Mavis Homeschooling Program (MHP)
The Mavis Homeschooling Program (MHP) is a technology based, learner-centred, self- or small group- paced educational system that enables parents to guide their children’s learning from the comfort of their home. The MHP is designed to give high quality learning at a fraction of the cost of going to conventional schools. Frequently Asked Questions
Every pupil will be tested to ensure that there are no learning gaps in the child’s knowledge before placing him/her. However, at this beginning stage (first year of the homeschooling program), pupils must begin from Level 1 so that we could lay a solid foundation. Accelerated learning can enable a child who is old and capable enough to cover two classes or more in one academic year. This is possible because the program is learner centred and self-paced.
One of the parents may have to take a job that would permit homeschooling to take place. Homeschooling requires job adjustments to be made. The good news is that Mavis Computel will soon come out with a homeschooling model for working parents.

Primary 3 – 6: Same as Primary 2 with more subjects added.
We emphasize laying a solid foundation in literacy and numeracy in the first year of learning. Thereafter, the children can learn more subjects – Basic Science, Social Studies, etc.
How do I ensure that my child does not become anti-social; considering that they are not going to school to mix with other children?
We will organize periodic fun activities on weekends to enable children make friends with other children in the Mavis Homeschooling Program. Children going to conventional schools will also be invited for such events. Parents are also encouraged to host their own independent events as well.
We have activities that parents will be trained on conducting to help their children explore the world around them, make new friends and expand their learning.
No. They do not. Our Mavis Talking Books™ follow the national curriculum and are approved by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC). This means, children who go through the Mavis Talking Books learn what they are expected to cover at their level in school. We also include some additional content from British and American curricula to make the books have well rounded content.
Additionally, with the new 9-3-4 education system in Nigeria (9 years for basic education – Primary 1 to JSS 3), the only competitive exam children write is the Junior WAEC and that is in their JSS 3. When children complete their Primary 6 education with the MHP, they can approach any secondary school for enrolment into that secondary school. The certificates and report cards we provide at the completion of each level of schooling in the MHP can be presented to the secondary school.
