About Us

Mavis Computel is an educational technology company head quartered in Abuja, Nigeria. We launched in 2007. We developed and own Copyrights to the Mavis Talking Books™ and Mavis Education Model™ – designed to give high quality basic education to the users in a language that they understand and improve learning outcomes in a short time.

Started as a team of 2 people in 2007. Our core team is now made up of 16 people with expertise in Education, Teaching, Content Development, Software Design, Graphics Design, Book Production, etc.

We also work with over 12 contract staff – Educators, Linguists, Artists, for the development of our growing range of Talking Books.

Key Personnel

Engr. Samuel Ucheaga
Came up with the idea of the Mavis Talking Books™ in 2011 (first prototypes released in 2014). Over 28 years’ experience in the telecoms sector. Supervised the rollout of the first GSM Switch installed in Nigeria while at M-Tel (the national mobile carrier at the time) when he was the General Manager, Technical Operations. Rose to become Acting CEO, M-Tel. Left the public sector to start Mavis Computel Limited in 2007.
Egwili Bridget
Head Teacher, Mavis Academy - Mpape
Over seven years experience in teaching children. BA Linguistics, Delta State University, Abraka. Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the National Teachers' Institute Kaduna.
Chizaram Ucheaga
Head, Corporate Strategy & Operations/Co-Founder
Supervises the roll-out of the Mavis Academy chain of schools. Responsible for training clients on the deployments of the Talking Books and Mavis Education Model. Over 10 years’ experience in the educational technology space. Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) Graduate of Electrical/Electronic Engineering. Lagos Business School trained (HIDAP). Member IEEE.
